About the Author
Trevor Scott is the author of more than thirty mystery/thriller novels in the Jake Adams International Thriller Series, the Chad Hunter Series, and the Tony Caruso Mystery Series. He has a master's in creative writing from Northern Michigan University, and a bachelor's in writing from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. He served in the U.S. Navy as an ordnance man on the flight deck of aircraft carriers, and as an officer in the U.S. Air Force.

~~'Caliphate is on the Move'~~

Jake Adams is called out of retirement once again. His love of country keeps pulling him back although he is getting older. His girlfriend, Alexandra is also on a 'job' in Berlin. The setting for this latest book takes place mostly in Spain. Morocco and Gibraltar also share in the spotlight. These settings were so familiar to me and as soon as I saw the Canary islands at the beginning, I knew I was in for the duration.
'The Lord's Compassion' is a medical ship that offers immunizations and care for those in third world countries. Unfortunately this ship has disappeared and also the 15 medical workers on board are gone. Reliable Jake is called in for assistance along with a female ex-Mossad agent named Sirena. Talk about a kick a** duo! Two very strong female characters add a wonderful dimension to this story. Toss in a Spanish billionaire, a priest from the Vatican, an old friend and the game is on.
This book is timely in light of occurrences with the blossoming immigration problem in Europe. The 'Caliphate is on the move' and expanding its role in Europe. The ending has a nice surprise for readers, as well.
All in all, a most entertaining read that is full of action on multiple fronts, Jake and his familiar antics, two strong female characters and some governments that finally decide to get off the 'pot' (so to speak...). In particular, I loved the locations in Spain as they were all so familiar to me (USN with 10 years there).

Typical Jake Adams thriller with action throughout but with a happy ending this time. Good thoughts on some of the social issues of our day and offered a solution that is needed for the situation we find ourselves in as well. A shame Jake can't help us solve our problem.
